Carl stayed with us a few days in November 1996.  I loved the new album "Go Cat Go" and he was impressed that I recognized him and knew the songs on his latest CD.

The next day, he walked up to me in the lobby and asked if I could do him a favor.  He had a pair of blue suede shoes and he wanted me to bring them to his friend, deejay Don Imus.  He gave me $50 and off I went.

We talked a lot about his latest CD, and I remember telling him how much I loved the video "Carl Perkins & Friends" with Eric Clapton and George Harrison.  He told me he had a lot of fun working with his buddies.  I know we all miss Carl Perkins.
